In this one-off session of workshops in a professional recording studio with Rachel Austin from ARTICULATE MANCHESTER REELS  you’ll learn what it takes to become a professional Voice Over artists for Radio Drama. 

From script to sound...

 

In this hands on and engaging new workshop with Rachel Austin from ARTICULATE REELS you will develop and learn new skills and apply them immediately.

 

Held in a professional recording studio you will explore the unique elements of radio scripts, including dialogue, sound effects, and music.

 

Rachel will share voice acting technique and tips on using your voice effectively for Radio Drama. 

 

Working with a sample radio drama script you will be able to practice voice modulation, pacing and expression as well as discussing how to bring characters to life through voice and dialogue.


You will also rehearse and record a short radio drama scene using the techniques learned. This will be edited and sent via email ready to put onto your Spotlight.

 

By the end of the workshop you will have a good understanding of the basics of
radio drama, from scriptwriting and voice acting to sound design and recording. There will also be a Q&A where you can ask those burning VO questions.

 

Rachel Austin is an actor, voice over artist and audio producer. Rachel graduated from The Arden School of Theatre in 2008 and has since worked extensively in Theatre, Audio Drama, Film, Television and Voice over. Most recently Rachel has been working with actors in training at The Arden School of Theatre and Manchester School of Theatre producing Audio Drama and Voice Reels. In October 2022, Rachel produced and directed her first professional Audio Drama for Naked Productions, ‘Heavier on the Turf’ which has been finalised for The UK and International Audio Drama Awards.
