Here at Manchester Actors' Platform, we are passionate about providing actors with the tools they need to survive in an ever-changing, over-populated industry, and offer a platform to shine a spotlight on the north's finest undiscovered talent - because we all know how hard it is to open those mythical doors that we keep knocking on! We can't promise the magic answer, but we can certainly help to unpick the locks.
It’s been waiting in the wings for a while, but we are delighted to finally share with you the MAP 'INDUSTRY SHOWCASE'.
Just 10 actors will have the opportunity to perform a monologue and a duologue, under the famous arches of Manchester's very own 53two. You will perform in front of an invited audience made up of the North's (oh go one then, we'll let the Southerners come too for this one) leading casting directors, agents, directors, producers... the list goes on.
You will work with professional directors who are active within the industry. They will hand-pick monologues and duologues with you that match your casting and make sure that spotlight shines even brighter on you.

Actors are expected to operate under the MAP Code of Conduct throughout the duration. Failure to do so will result in them being asked to leave - no refunds will be made in these instances.
You will meet with your director, prior to picking your pieces, to say hello and have a chat about what you're hoping to get out of the showcase. You will have a period of rehearsals to get you performance-ready, including a dress and tech, where you will work alongside the other actors as a company. There will be a matinee and evening performance which will, of course, be followed by a post-show beverage at the 53two bar where you can breathe a sigh of relief and reward yourself for your hard work.
