With Simon Naylor
Always been terrified of Shakespeare? No idea what it means? Can't use your own accent to speak it? Now is the time to lay down some serious work to uncover the beauty of the text and how to crack it.
These workshops takes place over four, 90 min sessions (or until we finish!) and will involve work on iambic pentameter, the rhythms and how to use them and will involve using a selection of script extracts from Shakespeare's most famous texts. We will work through these scripts, stripping back the language and highlighting the ease that this incredible writing has beneath the fear we all suffer from! From here, each person will have a two minute monologue to work on, spending some time in the sessions utilising the skills already discussed and deploying all of those, as well as focussing on those elements of delivery required for a performance. Getting rid of all the fear and getting you comfortable with the text...you might even decide you love it!
