I too went to see Vignettes. And I’m so glad I did. Congratulations to Hannah Ellis in producing such an interesting and thought provoking evening. This is how an evening of short plays should be organised. Minimal set, quick and economic transitions from play to play. It was so refreshing to see an evening of short plays that were all written and directed by women. What a wealth of talent we have in Manchester. Some plays were more complete and some more effectively directed and performed. It was good to see some new faces. One of my criticisms, besides the lack of wine and noodles was the failure in some plays to embrace and use the thrust staging. One or two were directed end on with the occasional nod to the audience each side. But all in all it was an entertaining evening. Let’s hope it is repeated in the future. The ticket sales would suggest that there is a need for it.

I found this odd Julie too, and wondered if it was a last minute addition once they knew they’d sold out? It seemed very odd to me that pretty much all the teams had neglected to involve the sides?? And of course, incredible for diversity! Brilliant stuff! SN
