Wellbeing In Performance
With Emma Trow & Tom Keeling
Free your mind, body and voice...
This is a two day workshop blending vocal training, acting workshops, mindfulness, Pilates and a host of relaxation techniques to help explore the idea of 'letting go' in performance. It will be performance focussed, but beginners and those who may just be interested in exploring the wellbeing elements are completely welcome. We have an open door to anyone excited by it.
This has been created for anyone wanting to feel more free, more centred, more connected to themselves and others and has a yearning to experience 'letting go' both on and off stage.
Both Emma and Tom have a keen interest in wellbeing, especially in the performing arts and believe that a happier mind equals a happier performer.

Tom is a trained and working actor in London but began his Wellbeing journey after drama school when a period of intense anxiety and depression led him to delve deep to discover and learn more about himself.
After years of self-help and exploration Tom started to coach actors alongside his acting work and discovered that he spent a lot of his time working on relaxation, mental blocks, connection and emotional intelligence. This then led him to begin running his own workshops to help people discover themselves and then worked for many large organisations such as Central College and Self Help UK on many areas such as; anger management, self awareness, meditation and mindfulness. He is a Reiki practitioner and Wellbeing Coach specialising in helping people to relax and has an online presence at freedomtom.com. Tom now co-runs 'Wellbeing for the Arts' with Sian Willett from 'Leek and Lotus' which is a fortnightly free event that supports anyone in the Arts and is in partnership with the Dominion Theatre - the event was created to support mental health in the industry.
Tom’s approach is to allow a safe space where healing can happen, change happens in a space of love and safety and everyone is welcome. Find out more about Tom at www.freedomtom.com
'Tom is a great tutor with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Following the course, my life has been positively changed!'
Emma trained originally as an opera singer at the Royal College of Music and then went on to gain her Masters in Musical Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Emma has performed professionally in both music theatre and as a recording and solo artist since early childhood.
Emma has been teaching singing alongside her performance career for over twenty years and it has become a second vocation. The combination of Estill and Hustler techniques as well as being a qualified Pilates instructor means that Emma offers a bespoke service which can open the voice through physical rehabilitation, creative and expressive connection, and a solid foundation of knowledge of the anatomy of both the larynx and the body as a whole.
Emma has taught at GSA, Italia Conti, PPA, Mountview, and London Studio Centre, and has run her own private practice from both London and Manchester working with professional musical theatre performers.
Emma is a devoted mum and in her spare time is a writer and director with several full musicals written and performed at fringe venues in London and Manchester to date. Emma currently works at the Arden School of Theatre and is loving her new life in the glorious North.
