Because it's too fricking good to not do it again! MAP48.8 gave us the same brilliance and the next level film-making and despite a bigger break we are galloping towards an Autumnal extravaganza
We at MAP, constantly striving to support new talent have been
providing services and experiences since 2015. MAP48 is one of
our finest and we provide an experience and a service, whilst having a bloody good weekend. Meeting on Friday 20th Jan at 6pm, individuals meet to be teamed up; actors, directors and writers are placed together at random, given one prop and NOW one line of dialogue and set loose. Their aim? Create a film in just 48 hours, containing the prop, the actors and a whole lot of speedy work, using music of your choice, using the contacts you have in your circle of friends to provide the equipment and skill and anything else you have at your disposal.

As the clock ticks on, the footage must be passed to an editor (or a friend with the skills to edit!) for them to perfect the sound-track, fix the mis-haps and finally, lay in those all important credits, before submitting the finished product at 7pm Sunday 22nd Jan for screening & judging from our industry professionals and the awards at 53two!
It doesn't matter if you film on an Iphone or a Black Magic, the judging panel will make choices based on creativity, originality and style. There will be awards for 'Best Actor', 'Best Use of Prop', 'Best Writer' and 'Best Edit' to boot! An incredible weekend for all involved and one we hope will roll on for years to come!

FAQ's:
What if I don't know any film crew?
We're fairly confident that amongst the director, actors and writers that you will find some willing folk! Start searching before the big weekend if you need to. If you still can't find help, then MAP may be able to throw a few names in your direction.
How do I edit?
Editing is a tough job! If you don't have experience in it, we'd recommend enlisting the help of someone who does. You can start searching for editors now - that's not against the rules. Just remember that you can't pay anyone. If you can't find anyone, you can even do simple edits on your Iphone. Editing is just one element of the final product so don't fret!
What do I win?
One film will win Best Film. Alongside this, there are awards for Best Actor, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Writing, Best Use Of Prop. Winners of the individual categories will take home a small token of their win, a workshop with an industry professional*, most importantly, a whole heap of pride! Winners of Best Film will take home a token and some extra special prizes including entry to UK Film Festivals. *Where possible
What if I have access requirements?
The festival is for everyone. If you have access requirements we will make sure that these are met, where possible, to ensure your participation. Please do let us know about any way we can assist you, in your application.
What if I enrol but can't then make the weekend?
All applicants will pledge to pay £20 to enter, to cover admin, judges, awards and event costs. This £15 will only be asked of participants when selected. Due to high demand, not all applicants will get a place. If over subscribed, places will be drawn at random.
How much do we all help with the writing, direction etc?
Each team will work to their own rules, and, as with anything, the director should make the final decisions based on what they think is best for the production. That said, it's a team effort and team-work makes the deam-work!
